Laura's life motto is "Let your life speak". After eleven
years as a professional model, she put away those wretched four inch heels and entered the University of Maryland College
Park at the age of twenty-five.
Laura focused her collegiate studies on literature,
writing and education. In addition to earning a Bachelor of Arts from the College of Arts and Humanities in 2002, she
was awarded a Citation in Renaissance and Baroque Studies.
She has taught
middle school since 2003. Her work experience includes a position on the western shore where she taught English at Sandy
Spring Friends School in Montgomery County. In Massachusetts, she taught all subjects focusing on writing and study
skills at Knowledge Points (an after school program). Here in Cambridge, she has worked for the Dorchester Board of
Education as a short- term and long-term substitute teacher and Home/Hospital teacher for sick children.
Laura dedicates her life to helping others. She volunteers and supports Dorchester County Tourism,
Cambridge Main Street, Mother's of Preschoolers (MOPS), Dorchester County YMCA, American Association of University Women (AAUW),
and The Ocean Conservancy.
The joy of Laura's life are her two sons and husband.
Her older son will attend Cambridge Christian Academy. Her younger son lights up the room with his smile. And
if you've ever needed a permit to build a pool or put an addition your home, you've possibly spoken with Laura's
husband. That's Gregory LeBlanc, Deputy City Engineer for the City of Cambridge.
