About Cambridge Christian Academy
Cambridge Christian Academy

Cambridge Christian Academy is a state approved, nondenominational, nonprofit, private school founded in 2006 by Andrea Kelly and Amy Insley.  The school started with kindergarten through second grade and has added a grade each year.  For the 2011-2012 school year CCA will offer kindergarten through 5th grade and recommends Salsibury Christian Academy for middle and high school aged children.

CCA's curriculum by Houghton Mifflin meets the Maryland State standards.  CCA offers reading, writing, spelling, math, social studies, science, bible, art, music, Spanish and physical education.  The school has a computer lab and general library where students can check out books.  In addition, each classroom has its own library to support its curriculum.  To further enhance learning, the county library Bookmobile visits the school every other week.

The maximum class size is 15 students to allow the teacher to provide each student with individualized instruction.  All primary teachers have either a Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate degree in education.  They are loving and nurturing individuals that have a background and belief in the Christian faith.

In general, a child will be eligible to enroll in kindergarten if he or she is five years old by September 1st of that school year.  However, a parent or guardian may request early admission into kindergarten if (1) his or her child turns five years of age by December 1st of that school year, (2) the parent or guardian submits an application for admission and (3) through an interview and testing with CCA staff, the child is deemed to show the skills needed to be successful in kindergarten.

CCA is administered by a School Board that consists of dedicated volunteers who represent parents, local businesses, church and academic communities.

CCA is housed at St. Paul's United Methodist Church at 205 Maryland Avenue in Cambridge; however, the school is separately incorporated.

CCA does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in the administration of its education, admissions or any other school sponsored programs.
