“Children are born with
a natural desire and passion for science. However, in traditional science programs, we dull this desire with memorization
of facts instead of providing students with the opportunities to discover science principles on their own. CCA desires
to offer students hands-on projects where students can directly observe, investigate, and find answers to their questions.
Our school is located within view of the Choptank River, so investigation is right outside our door. Science taught
in an interactive manner is very rewarding to children, therefore, this type of learning will build skills in all the subject
areas as students use reading, math, and social studies skills to explain how our world operates. Above all, students
will see with their own eyes the intricacy of our environment, which can directly lead to students wanting to take active
roles as adults in protecting Delmarva.” Principal Vicky Froelicher
